Join us for the 8th Annual Chester Cut n Run 5k/10k Walk and Run on Sunday, June 3, 2018. Start line is Chester Area Middle School, 204 Duke Street in Chester.

Nourish Sharing Garden

Sharing gardens are different than many community gardens where individuals or families rent separate plots. Instead, a sharing garden is managed collectively by a group and the food is available to anyone who needs it, regardless of whether or not they have contributed time, materials, or labour. Any surplus vegetables are donated to the Lighthouse Food Bank.

The garden is run by the Nourish Community Garden Cooperative; a group of volunteers who are passionate about growing fresh, healthy food for the community. Our goals include:

  • Increasing access to healthy and affordable food for everyone;
  • Building communities by bringing people together to learn, celebrate and build friendships;
  • Developing the capacity of individuals to plant, tend, harvest and preserve their own food; and
  • Increasing community resiliency by reducing dependance on food that comes from far away

We welcome you to join us in planting, tending and harvesting this season! We are seeking new members for our organizing team, as well as folks who want to drop by once and a while to water the garden throughout the summer.
