Road Names

The Civic Address Coordinator guides the process for new or changing road names according to the Municipality's Civic Addressing By-Law #139, and in consultation with best practices outlined in the Nova Scotia Civic Address Users Guide.

New roads are named when a driveway gives access to a third addressable building or through the subdivision process. Property owners whose property is accessed by the new road have the opportunity to help name the road.

If you notice that a road name sign is missing, please notify the Civic Address Coordinator (902-275-2599) or Public Works Department (902-275-1312) immediately.
