The reVISION Process

Plan Review Timeline

Phase 4 – Putting it all Together

We are now in Phase 4 of the reVISION process. We are currently writing draft policy and draft Land Use By-laws. Drafts are available in the documents section. The newest drafts are released in our Committee agenda packages.

Phase 3 – Working with Communities

Phase 3 consisted of:

  • 7 community open houses and public consultations
  • An online survey
  • Conducting impromptu conversations in the community through the use of “pop-up” displays at local community locations
  • A “meeting in a box” toolkit.

The report from this round of public engagement will be released soon.

Phase 2 – Goals and Approach

The Citizens Planning Advisory Committee has met regularly since October 2015. They are a group of residents selected by Council to guide the Plan Review. Staff has worked with the Committee to define different planning ideas across the Municipality and to produce an approach and goals. The preliminary approaches and goals are found below. They form the basis for the documents we are creating in Phase 4.

Phase 1 – Kick Off

The Citizens Planning Advisory Committee was formed to ensure that public feedback is reflected through the reVISION process. This committee provides recommendations at each step of the process, and gives staff and Council feedback on reports and policy options.

We held seven public engagement sessions. We discussed the reVISION process and led the public in community visioning exercises. The results of the public engagement from Phase 1 are available in our first Public Engagement Report.

We also completed seven background reports dealing with the topics that need to be addressed in the reVISION process:
