Materials: 1 cup of baking soda, ½ cup of citric acid, ½ cup of Epsom salt, ½ cup of cornstarch, 2 tablespoons of coconut oil, 2 tablespoons of water, 8 drops of your favourite essential oil, wax paper
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix the dry ingredients (baking soda, citric acid, Epsom salt, cornstarch)
- Then combine the wet ingredients in a small bowl (coconut oil, water, essential oils)
- Alternate mixing the dry and wet ingredients together. Repeat until mixed. This should be the consistency of damp sand
- Pack the molds very tightly and let sit for two minutes
- Allow to dry on wax paper overnight and then enjoy!

Canvas Tape Painting
Materials: Canvas, painter’s tape, paints, brushes
Directions
- Place the tape in triangles on the canvas
- Paint the canvas as desired

Lava Lamps
Materials: jar, vegetable oil, Alka seltzer original tablets, food colouring, water
Directions:
- Fill 1/8 of the jar with water
- Fill the rest with vegetable oil
- Add drops of food colouring
- Have a parent break the Alka seltzer tablets into fourths and place the tablets in individually
- Watch the magic happen after each tablet is dropped into the jar

Milk Jug Birdfeeder
Materials: milk jug or carton, a black permanent marker, a craft knife, a pair of scissors, a wooden dowel, strong string or wire, birdseed
Directions
- Draw two large circles on the two flat sides of the milk jug, opposite the handle
- Carefully cut out the circles
- Under each circle, cut a small hole to push the dowel through. This is so the birds will have something to perch on.
- Then poke four small holes in the bottom of the milk jug to allow drainage
- Remove the cap and wrap the string/wire around the base of the opening and then twist the wire or tie off the string
- Put the cap back on to keep the string or wire tight on the jug
- Fill the milk jug with birdseed just beneath the large hole
- Hang the birdfeeder from a tree branch and watch for the birdies!

Popsicle Stick Catapult
Materials: 10 jumbo popsicle sticks, rubber bands, any ammunation of your choosing, bottle cap, scissors/utility knife, glue (preferably hot glue)
Directions:
- Cut notches into two of the popsicle sticks
- Take the remaining 8 popsicle sticks and stack them
- Wind a rubber back around both sides
- Push a notched popsicle stick through the stack of popsicle sticks to create the base of the catapult
- Glue the bottle cap to the last remaining popsicle stick on the opposite side of the notch
- Attach the popsicle stick using a rubber band and the two notches
- Fire away! Longest shot wins!

Recycled Bottle Animal Planters
Materials: soda/water bottle, paint, pencil, scissors or a utility knife, ruler
Directions
- Clean the bottles and remove any labels
- Depending on the animal you have chosen to create, use a pencil to form ears or eyes and then use the scissors or utility knife to cut the perimeter
- Then use the ruler to cut around the edge of the bottle
- Use paint as desired to bring your animal to life!
