CM-AM2024-003- Permit 1 Residential Unit in "Maple Cottage" (Lordly House museum property)

Council has directed Staff to undertake public participation and prepare a report and draft amendments to the Village Secondary Planning Strategy (VSPS) and Land Use By-Law (VLUB) to permit a residential unit in the form of an approximately 550 ft2  apartment in the "Maple Cottage" on the Lordly House Museum lands where it would not be permitted otherwise in the Institutional Area (VSPS) and Institutional Zone (LUB).

CM-AL2024-001-Rezone Spectacle Lake to Lakeside Zone

Staff have received direction to prepare a report to consider the topography of the lands surrounding Spectacle Lake, existing land use, existing property boundaries and roads and will provide a number of options for application of the Lakeside Zone

CM-DA2024-005-Development Agreement for Valley Road (PID 60093499) - 20 Unit Residential Development

An application for development of 20 residential dwelling units (two 10-unit buildings). The development is proposed to occur on two parcels, which will be subdivided from the existing single parcel. This use requires a Development Agreement in accordance with the current Village of Chester Secondary Planning Strategy and Land Use By-Law.

CM-AM2024-002-Rezone lands around Spectacle Lake from Protected Watershed Zone to Mixed Use Zone. 

Staff has been directed to prepare a staff report with policy analysis to consider rezoning lands around Spectacle Lake from Protected Watershed Zone to the Mixed Use Zone. This is due to new information confirming Spectacle Lake is not suitable as a potential Municipal water source.

"Village of Chester Secondary Planning Strategy and Land Use By-Law Review"

In January 2020 Municipal Council approved a new Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-Law. These documents regulate land use and development activity for areas outside the Village of Chester. The Village is regulated by a Secondary Planning Strategy and Land Use By-Law. Staff are now undertaking a review of the Village of Chester planning documents. 

The format and structure of the Village of Chester Plan will match the Municipal Plan, however, the policies and regulations created within the village documents will be tailored to address the unique opportunities, issues and challenges within the Village.
