STORM CANCELLATION POLICY UPDATE December 2025
Programs may or may not be cancelled during a storm. Please always check before heading out. If programs are cancelled, updates will be posted on:
• Our website: www.chester.ca (click “Closures & Cancellations”)
• Facebook @ChesterRecParks
• Call 902-275-3490 (Monday to Friday, 8:30 to 4:30 pm)
NEW: School cancellations may say:
South Shore Regional Centre of Education (which includes all South Shore Schools)
Forest Heights Family of Schools (which includes all schools in the Mun. of Chester)
Program Guidelines:
Morning Programs:
If school is cancelled or delayed due to a storm, all morning programs are automatically cancelled, regardless of location.
Evening & Drop-In Programs:
ACES, CAMS, CDS, FHCS and NRCS are not automatically cancelled if school is cancelled during the day. A decision will be made by 3:00 pm based on current weather conditions and forecasts.
Weekend Programs:
If a weekend program is cancelled, participants will be contacted directly. If we are unable to reach you, please check: “Closures & Cancellations” on www.chester.ca or Facebook @ChesterRecParks.
