Morgan Toney Trio - Live in Lordly park

Celebrate the summer sun and wrap up the August long weekend with this Pay-What-You-Wish concert combining fiery fiddling and ancient wisdom, with Juno-nominated, 3-time ECMA winner Morgan Toney!

Music is an almost alchemical force to Canadian Mi’kmaq fiddler and singer Morgan Toney. In just a short amount of time, Toney has invigorated both the Atlantic music communities and Mi’kmaq communities by bringing together the fiery fiddling of Cape Breton Island with the old songs of the Mi’kmaq, some dating back up to 500 years. He calls this fusion Mi’kmaltic (Mi’kmaq + Celtic) and it’s his way of celebrating his language and heritage.

Morgan performs with a trio comprising Keith Mullins (guitar, vocals and percussion) and Ryan Roberts (mandolin & vocals), outside under the bandstand at Chester’s Lordly Park. Bring the whole family, along with your lawn chairs and picnic baskets , for what will be an exciting and uplifting performance by The Morgan Toney Trio!

*In the event of rain, this event moves indoors to the Chester Playhouse, with seats held for the first 150 tickets booked. We strongly encourage you to book ahead for this event, to avoid disappointment!
