Development Agreement for Bear Lake Wind Farm Ltd. and Atlantic Star Forestry Ltd.

What:  Public Information Meeting for proposed Development Agreement.
When:   6 p.m., Thursday, June 26, 2025
Where:  Council Chambers, 151 King Street, Chester
What is it:  To permit one wind turbine with maximum generating capacity of 8.5 megawatts and maximum height of 215 metres rather than 2 turbines, maximum generating capacity of 12 MW and maximum height of 207 m by way of Amending Development Agreement for lands known as PID# 60408820 (at Highway 14 and the municipal boundary).

How can I have my say?  This meeting is a chance to hear about the proposal and ask questions.

After this meeting the Community Development staff will present the proposal to the Municipal Area Advisory Committee (date TBD in Council Chambers) who will make a recommendation to Municipal Council. Council then holds a Public Hearing to receive feedback from the public on the proposed Amending Development Agreement. Council will then vote on whether to approve the Amending Development Agreement. 

All Council and Committee meetings are open to the public. The dates are yet to be determined. Notices with the date, time and location of meetings will be posted in a local newspaper, on our website, and notices will be posted at the Municipal Office.
