What: The Public Information Meeting previously advertised for June 24th has been RESCHEDULED to July 14, 2025. Additionally, the venue is changing, and the July 14th, 2025 meeting will be held at the Unifor Union Hall, located at 7216 Highway 329, East River.
Public Information Meeting on proposed Development Agreement for "East River Village" (Residential development with commercial space)
When: 6:00pm, Monday July 14th, 2025
Where: Unifor Union Hall 7216 Highway 329, NS B0J 1T0
What is it: A proposed residential development on PID's: 60677168 & 60064078 (East River) for up to 280 single unit residential dwelling units administered through a bare-land condominium. Additionally, the proposal includes approximately 12,600 sq.ft of commercial space with 9 residential units on the second floor.
How can I have my say? This meeting is a chance to hear about the proposal, ask questions, learn about the Development Agreement approval process and how you can stay involved as the file proceeds.
After this meeting the Community Development staff will present the proposal and a Draft Development Agreement to the Municipal Planning Advisory Committee (date TBD). The Committee will make a recommendation to Council. Council then holds a Public Hearing to receive feedback from the public on the draft development agreement. Council will then vote on whether to approve or reject the development agreement.
All Council and Committee meetings are open to the public. Notices with the date, time and location of meetings will be posted in a local newspaper, on our website, and notices will be posted at the Municipal Office.
