On Thursday, May 15, 2025, Chester Municipal Council conducted First Reading for the amendment of By-Law 154 Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) Program By-Law. The amendments were:
- To include a building owned by a registered not-for-profit organization, and
- To include implications for the lien on a property should the qualifying property be sold.
The proposed amendment will proceed to Second and Final Reading at a Council Meeting on Thursday, June 26 at 8:45 a.m. in Council Chambers, 151 King Street in Chester.
Also on May 15, Council adopted:
- By-Law 157 Marketing Levy By-Law, which permits partnering in promoting economic and tourism sectors in the Municipality.
- By-Law 158 Short-Term Rental Licensing By-Law, which provides for the development of consistent regulations for short term rentals throughout the Municipality.
