UPDATE FROM RCMP 5:10 P.M.
RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit is now on scene on Walker Rd. in Chester. A controlled destruction of the explosives will be carried out at the scene. Walker Rd. remains closed. Continue to avoid area.

Lunenburg District RCMP has closed Walker Rd. in Chester due to explosives being located during excavation related to road repair work. Neighbouring homes have been checked and the area has been secured by RCMP officers. RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit is on route. The RCMP ask for people to please avoid the area.
