Norma is all over the Community lending a helping hand. Norma is a lifetime Legion Member and a past Legion President of the Chester Legion. Her current Legion role is Bingo Chair.
Norma runs the Bingo every Tuesday evening. The Chester Legion Bingo is one of the largest fundraisers for the Legion and helps keep repairs and upgrades moving forward. Norma makes meals and serves 17-22 Bingo players every week -most are seniors that enjoy knowing that there is a hot meal every Tuesday. Norma donates the proceeds from the meals to the Veterans Build Program at the Legion. This is a program that brings Veterans together in a social setting to build models. If you go into the Legion upstairs, you can see these beautiful models displayed above the bar. The Chester Legion is known as a community building, open for anyone or group to rent. You can always depend on Norma helping at the Legion with numerous events.
Norma also sits on the East Chester Recreation Association Hall. She volunteers her time helping to raise money. These funds help to improve the building. Norma also volunteers her time with the Annual Chester Cut N Run, making sure all the participants and volunteers (approx. 200), get lunch. Norma also volunteered at the Annual Mackerel Snapper’s Picnic.
Norma’s helping hand is greatly appreciated around the community. She is an amazing woman, and her impact may seem small, but it is very mighty. Norma never hesitates to help anyone at any time.
