COVID-19 Financial Relief

There are a number of initiatives being taken by levels of government and various organizations to offset the financial impact on residents, small- and large-scale businesses, and non-profit organizations caused by COVID-19. We will do our best to post them all on this page.

Municipal Initiatives

The structure of funding programs will develop further in the coming days and will be posted here and on our social media platforms.

  • The low income tax exemption budget will double for 2020/21 with increases to both income thresholds and rebate amounts
  • Residents whose income is directly affected by COVID-19 may be eligible for low-interest financing on property tax payments as well as an extension on the payment deadline and longer repayment time. Click here for more details.
  • Interest was withheld for affected property owners until January 31.
  • A municipal-administered Facebook group connecting people in need with those willing to help found at https://www.facebook.com/groups/LeanOnMeMOC/
