Activities
Elizabeth has been on the poppy committee for the last 10 years, seven of those years, she has been Chairman. This is a large undertaking which is months of organization, ordering supplies, organizing campaigners for the campaign blitz and bank shifts, working closely with the Sergeant at Arms, Parade Marshall, Brass Band to organize the November the 11th ceremony at the Cenotaph.
She is also there to support Operation Vet Build, veterans in our area who need assistance, supporting the veteran’s unit in Lunenburg. She has impacted our veterans with her outstanding support for the Poppy Fund to make sure we have the funds needed to assist them whenever possible.
Elizabeth is also our Youth and Scholarship Chairman, ensuring that our applications are at both FHCS and Parkview so the students in our area have access to assist them in their future endeavors. Elizabeth is involved in many other organizations such as the Lions Club, support of the Lido Pool and is a huge supporter of the Llewellyn Sea Cadets 351 corps, serving as the Navy league president for many years.
Elizabeth was awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee medal in 2022.
She has fundraised for many years to help keep many organizations like the Cadets, Lido Pool, and the Lion’s Club running in our municipality.
She also supports the Chester Volunteer Fire Department whenever needed. I am sure that there are many others that she helps without anyone knowing, as she is humble about what she does for the people of our municipality.
