The Municipality of Chester is taking proactive steps to help our local businesses during the COVID-19 situation. Economic Development Officer, Heather Hennigar, is working with Jennifer Fraser, Business Development Bank of Canada. Jennifer is a local Chester resident. On Friday, the Federal Government announced measures to help mitigate the economic impact that COVID-19 is predicted to have on the economy. This financial support program will be managed by EDC (Export Development Canada) and BDC, Business Development Bank. The program is called BCAP – Business Credit Availability Program. BCAP is for new and existing businesses. Measures are also in place with BDC to offer businesses a postponement of their principal loan payments and cash flow loans.
