Antony Proffitt first began out in the United Kingdom, training as a traditional qualified plasterer. He became an apprentice in 1978 and became qualified 3 years later. Antony then diversified into consructing swimming pools from 1992 until 1998. This allowed him to pick various skills, including tiling and concrete framework. In 1998, the opportunity arose to become a contracts manager for an external facades company in London, UK. This work involved managerial and organizational skills on major construction sites within the city of London, UK. The projects that Antony would work on for the company would range from $50 000 up to $1 500 000. After seven years of commuting to London on a daily basis, the decision was made to being a new life in Nova Scotia, Canada in December 2005.
